AREA partner of Global LEAP Initiative
Global Lighting and Energy Access Partnership launched
AREA is partnering with the Global LEAP initiative which will be launched on the 26th April 2012 in London, UK during the joint press conference for the Clean Energy Ministerial and the Sustainable Energy for All Initiative. Global LEAP is a voluntary forum that brings together governments, the private sector, and development partners to share knowledge and best practices under a set of commonly held principles to encourage self-sustaining commercial markets for energy access solutions.
AREA shares the commitment of the Global LEAP principles.

AREA partnering with CAFELEC
CAFELEC and the Steering Committee of the African Renewable Energy Alliance (AREA) have identified vast synergies in their goal to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy in Africa.
Therefore CAFELEC and AREA have agreed to partner in this endeavor through supporting the work of AREA by establishing a regional AREA office in Casablanca, Morocco. The Confédération Africaine d’Electricité CAFELEC is a newly established body, which regroups the national electrical federations of Cameroun, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Mali, Senegal and Morocco.
